More visitors

Today we had some more visitors! Karina was in Chicago with her two boys, so we had a playdate with Karina, Reiley, Luke, Rachel and Drew. It is so crazy that we have so many kids...and even crazier that Karina has two girls as well! Today was about the boys; three moms and 5 boys.
Caleb held Jackson for the first time! He was so excited to hold him and has asked to hold him several times since then.

After naps we had some more visitors...Erik's grandparents and Aunt Louise.

First Dr. Visit

Jackson had his one week appointment today and our doctor said "he is perfect!" He weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz; 20.5 inches. He left the hospital at 8 lbs 2 oz so he must be eating well. He is a little jaundice, but nothing to worry about. We are so thankful for another healthy little boy.

He definitely has a "Mecher" smile! Those squinty eyes are just like my dads!

We are down a car right now and have not had a stroller that I could push both kids in. I know that I should not be doing a lot right now anyway, but I sorta felt trapped! I could go for little walks with Caleb pushing the stroller, but he would get tired and then want me to carry him! So today Erik went and bought the toddler seat attachment for our Valco. We tried it out after dinner and Caleb really seemed to enjoy his new view. Caleb will be excited to go to the park again with mommy. We are all doing really well. I feel great, my mom ran a sprint triathlon on Sunday and I was so jealous, I am anxious to start working out again soon! Both boys are doing well, today we all took naps from 12:00-3:00! Erik is loving his job and feeling more and more settled every day.

Tummy Time and Ravinia

Here is Jackson trying "tummy time" for the first time. Caleb was excited to join in and encourage his little brother.

Tonight I had the opportunity to go to an Indigo Girls concert at Ravinia with these fine ladies (and Jackson). I dressed Jackson appropriately and people around us were shocked that he was only 6 days old. I made sure to let them know that he was my second and I would not have done this with the first! We had a great time and Jackson enjoyed his first concert by eating and sleeping in everyone's arms.

The little cicada

So, one of the first things my dad said to Jackson was "hi little cicada". He was born in the year of the cicada so I figured I needed to document this. Here he is at Nana and Papa's house meeting a cicada for the first time. Below is Uncle Dave trying to convince Caleb that cicada's are fun...Caleb wasn't so sure.

Jackson's first bath. If you click on "September 2005" on the right column you can see a picture of Caleb's first bath. They look alike but I think Jackson's face is rounder and a little chubbier than Caleb's was.
We think Jackson is a little jaundice, so here is he trying to get some natural light on his face...it was too cold in out apartment to let him be naked!

We went on our first walk today. Caleb enjoyed pushing his little brother around the block a few times.

I haven't posted too many pictures of Jackson's visitors, but that is because there were just too many and each picture only had one person in it. Thank you to all of you that visited us in the hospital, we know that Jackson is loved by so many people already! On Saturday night we had lots of visitors, Uncle Dave, Auntie Brooke and all the Rills stopped by.

Here is Caleb painting at his new table. It was made with love by Papa (Erik's dad). When you ask Caleb who made it he says "Papa made it." I bought this puzzle at the church rummage sale and thought it would be neat to make a table for the kids with it. Needless to say, Papa stepped right up and created this beautiful table...we love it!

Today we had visitors...Aunt Betty and Kendell. Today was Kendell's birthday and she decided she wanted to come and meet Jackson for her birthday. Thanks for a fun visit!

We found out that Caleb loves corn on the cob.

This morning when Caleb woke up, Jackson (Caleb says "Jackskin") was sleeping in his bassinet. While we were all in the kitchen I noticed Caleb was doing something in the living room by Jackson. I came out later to see that he had added the blankie and stuffed animal to his bed! What a good big brother, already taking care of little Jackson! By the way, we had a good night. My mom slept over and after feedings I left Jackson by her so I could get some good sleep until the next feeding. His longest stretch was from 1:30 - 5:30. I am feeling great, wishing I could just go take walks, but I know that I still need rest.
Later this afternoon Jackson found his left thumb...not another thumb sucker already!

Tammy told me that I needed to add some pictures of Jackson without his hat on...here you go!

More pictures

We're home! Here are a few more pictures of our new little man and his big brother. I have no clue why these are so our of order...I am usually really good about that! Jackson is doing great, Caleb spent today with Cam, Linnea and Gwen (thank you so much!) and was asleep before we got home. Tomorrow will be the first day we all spend together...we'll let you know how it goes!

First car ride

Two sleepy boys!

This is us heading to the hospital on Monday night.

Happy Father's Day

Today we are so thankful for Erik and the wonderful father and husband he is...it won't be long before he is a father of two! After church today we headed up to Covenant Harbor with Nana, Papa and Uncle Dave for some more beach time. Caleb enjoyed playing in the sand and watching all the boats and bugs (cicadas).
