short hair!

This guy was do for a haircut. I loved his hair long, but I was feeling so bad every time he played outside and his hair was just soaked! I think he looks so much bigger...maybe I should have left it long, I'm not ready for him to be big.

my little patient...

This morning we took Emmett down to Children's for an "Esophogram". This is a live xray of his esophagus while he drinks a barium liquid so they can look for any abnormalities. He has been a spitter since the day he was born and although he would go through a few outfits a day, it never seemed to be a problem. When we went for his 9 month check up, his stats showed that he hadn't gained any weight in the last month, dropping him down to the 1st percentile. This, combined with his spitting up caused us to check things out a little further. We went to a GI specialist at Children's and he recommended an esophagram. Emmett was a great little patient, he drank the liquid like a champ (I guess if some kids won't drink it they need to put a tube in their nose!) He cried at the end because he had been strapped to this board for so long. The doctor saw reflux a few times but nothing else alarming (he will look at the x rays a little closer to double check). Emmett is currently on Prevacid to help reduce the acidity of his spit up. He continues to be a happy little guy and we are so thankful that this isn't anything serious.

They had to turn him on his side to make sure they were seeing everything.

On Father's Day we headed out to the Stroms to celebrate the dads and also Jackson's birthday. (I didn't get any pictures with Erik and the boys...oops!) Erik took all these close ups of Emmett, sorry there are so many, it was hard for me to choose.

Jackson turns 3!

This was actually taken on Wednesday when my parents stopped by on their way to meet grandchild number 7. Luckily gramma had already made Jackson's cookies! You may notice that his left eye is puffy. He woke up with a puffy eye (I guess it was a bug bite) but it slowly went away.

The traditional sticky bun breakfast. He was so excited to be three (or as he says "free").

Presents.

From the Condaps he got this cement mixer and a "make your own bouncy ball" kit.

We got him a slip and slide...he wasn't too sure about it, but Caleb LOVED it.

For lunch we went to Wagner Farm. They were having a "Dairy Breakfast", we chose to have it for lunch. It was so good. We got there at the tail end of the festivities but were still able to squeeze in a few things.

We just missed the last hay ride, but they let the boys ride while they turned it around and parked it. (Emmett is just in this for the picture!)

We helped churn the ice cream...

...and then got to eat it!

crazy!

We ended the day at the pool. What a perfect birthday for our little three year old. We love you Jackson and are so proud of you. Oh, by the way, Jackson is fully out of diapers...finally. The three year old thing did the trick for those night time diapers.

welcome to the world

My brother Kyle and sister-in-law Jenny gave birth to their little girl on Wednesday night! We can't wait to meet little Charlotte Amy Mecher. She came two weeks early, weighing in at 6 pounds 3 ounces and 17.5 inches long. Everyone is doing great. I don't know how to get pictures from my phone on here so we will have to wait for pictures.

Jackson's "new" bed

We were lucky enough to get the bunk beds that my brothers used when they were little. We decided to "clean" them up a little. I sanded and sanded the wood and then re-stained it. I love the way they turned out. Jackson has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor and finally has a real bed. As you can tell he loves it. We just need to finish the other one for Caleb and then we can move Emmett into their room and out of ours!!!

Little Legends

I signed the boys up for a soccer camp this week. It meets for 1 hour everyday. This was our first one. Here is Caleb with his new shirt and water bottle.

Jackson all ready to go.

This is Coach Tony asking the kids all their names. Jackson is all the way on the left and Caleb is to the left of the girl in the pink. I think Jackson looks so cute sitting there on the ball.

Dribbling

They both did great right away, but pretty soon after this picture they came back for a water break and Jackson told me that he was all done. They run around A LOT. I knew he was on the young end for this but thought he might want to do it because Caleb was doing it. Needless to say, I let him sit out and maybe he'll try again next year. When Caleb was all done Jackson kept telling him what a great job he did and that he was "awesome!"

Emmett was there too! Smiling and waving at all the other parents and siblings.

Here's some videos to give you an idea of their little soccer practice. You can see Jackson often wandering in a different direction!

Lori and Steve's wedding

For my mom.

(taken by Lucy, Lisa's 5 year old)

On Sunday I drove up to Madison with Kate and her husband for our friend Lori's wedding. It was a mini high school reunion. It was a lot of fun, but the best part, by far, was Lori's surprise to Steve...she rented the marching band from University of Madison (where he went to school). It was awesome!

Caleb drew this picture today. I love when they play with this but I am also sad that we can't keep all the pictures they draw. This is a picture of Florida (where we stayed with my family). The boys talk about going back there almost every day. You should all do an entire family vacation and rent a house...I highly recommend it!

And here is little Emmett practicing standing on his own.

A gift from Uncle Kyle and Auntie Jenny!

Jackson got a package in the mail the other day...an early birthday present. We were finally around today and it was warm out so we headed over to the Johnson's for a water day. The sprinkler was a hit! THANKS!

Gwen was done being wet and made this silly face when I wanted to take her picture. So cute!

Who doesn't love outside days where you just stay in your suits for dinner!? We are so glad that we live so close now.
