Rocks and Poop

This is our friend Hannah...she loves Caleb so much!
I would have never guessed Caleb would enjoy crawling around in the rocks so much! Although, every once in a while he would try to shove one in his mouth just to make sure they weren't tasty. (He's getting better about not automatically putting everything straight into the mouth). Believe it or not, that's bird poop on his arm! Good aim, huh?! Caleb looks disgusted, too.

Peek-A-Boo

This is a bench right by the tether ball at camp where Colby, Caleb and I spent a good 10 minutes playing "Peek-A-Boo". Colby was sitting on one side of it and Caleb and I on the other, Caleb would hide and then pop back up. We tried to get a picture of him peeking through the gap in the wood, but it wouldn't turn out. He is really into "Peek-A-Boo" lately. In the car, he would pull his blanket over his face over and over again.

Caleb's First Trip to the Island

We're back! Our trip to Covenant Point went well. Erik was the speaker of the week for staff training and Caleb and I got to tag along! Our friends Kevin and Linnea also happened to be getting married at the camp on Saturday.

So we took Caleb on a pontoon ride out to the Island. He hated the life jacket - it was cramping his "style" a bit, but once we were moving he actually began to enjoy himself. Once there, we ate dinner with all the staff who couldn't get enough of our little "islander."

Preppy

Here is Caleb in his "preppy" outfit. The first one we call..."blue steel" (from the movie Zoolander)! He is doing "so big" in the second one and you can also see his two teeth, a top one and a bottom one. We are leaving for Covenant Point as we speak, so enjoy these pictures for the week. Bye!

I thought Caleb looked so cute in his outfit today and I wanted to show you how he is looking so grown up. I would really love to show you some pictures of the two teeth he has...but I haven't been able to snap a good one of them yet. We'll keep trying!

A day at the beach

First Haircut

Caleb got his first official haircut from "Tony", better known as Papa. I was a little nervous but it turned out great!

We went to church at Hinsdale Covenant on Sunday. Erik will be leading worship there all summer. Caleb was such a good boy during the service but was so exhuasted by the end. He fell asleep in my arms after church, I transferred him to his carseat, and then transferred him into his crib when we got home. (Yes, I actually buckled him in!) Doesn't he just look so peaceful?

A Little Retreat

We spent Friday night and Saturday morning at our friends house in Wayne, IL. It was so nice to have a little retreat from the busy city life. We actually heard birds chirping! Here is Caleb enjoying the rock wall in the garden.So we had to post this picture...Caleb had just woken up from his morning nap and his eye was "glued" shut. He has a little eye infection (which is so sad) but I just had to take a picture of him...look how pathetic and cute he is! He was trying so hard to get that eye to open. He looks like he was in a fist fight!

Here are some pictures of Caleb on his new tricycle at Nana and Papa's. He is still a little small for it...but he looks like he is enjoying himself! Caleb is getting his second tooth right now. He has his bottom, front, right tooth and now the top, front, left tooth is working it's way down. He is going to look so different. He is growing up way too quickly.

A typical day...

Here are some pictures to show a "typical day" for the Strom family. We recently moved all of Caleb's toys to these bookshelves and he spends a good portion of the day pulling things off the shelves and reaching into his baskets.

I am training for a mini triathlon (my mom and I are doing it together!) so I try to get out and run with Caleb a few times a week. We got a really nice stroller from our parents...I don't think I'd ever find time to run without it! Thanks!

Erik doesn't get to play his guitar as much as we all would like, but when he does, Caleb is sure to be right there listening and watching. Erik will finish up this school year on Friday. We are all very excited for the summer to relax and enjoy!

Happy Birthday Erik!

Today was Erik's birthday. We had sticky buns for breakfast, erik spent the whole afternoon doing schoolwork and at night we went to a movie together.

Gwen Marie arrives!

Our friends Cam and Linnea gave birth to their baby girl this morning. Here is a picture of Gwen Marie Johnson. She weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, with dark hair and the cutest dimple on her chin. It was so much fun to hold a newborn again...we miss those days!

Visiting with Elsa

We spent the afternoon with Caleb's friend Elsa (and her mom, Ali, of course!) Caleb is 5 weeks older, but I think Elsa is taller. Caleb had fun chewing on all of her toys and teaching her how to crawl around.
