Emmett!

We are always telling this kid that he should be more happy! It has been fun to watch Emmett get so excited to see his brothers. He has been playing with them and wanting to do whatever they are doing. He especially loves bath time with Caleb and Jackson.

Mini golf with the Johnsons

We finally found some time to go mini golfing for Caleb's birthday. We went on a Wednesday night and the kids had so much fun. Caleb and Gwen even made it around to all the holes twice.

Jackson is always so silly. He says the funniest and cutest things all day. I need to start writing them down because I can never remember them.

Oh how I love these boys!

The Midnight Circus

Here is Caleb and his finished pumpkin. He woke up and went right to work again.

Jackson's finished product.

Tonight my parents took Caleb and Jackson to the "Midnight Circus." It was at the park right by their house. Nobody knew what to expect but they said it was REALLY good. The boys had so much fun and couldn't wait to tell me all about it. I think their favorite was "the little clown with a red ball on his nose."

Afterward they went to dinner and ice cream. Thanks Mom and Dad! It was fun to just have Emmett for the afternoon.

A sleepover with the Strombergs!

Our husbands were away on a retreat so Katie and the boys came to have a sleepover. Everybody skipped naps (including Emmett...I guess he was too excited!) So, we took them over to Wagner Farm, got pumpkins, carved the pumpkins and ate dinner all before the kids went to bed at 7. Katie and I sat on the couch and watched a movie. It was wonderful! Here are a ton of pictures from the day...sorry...

Checking out all the corn.

5 boys! They are watching the pigs fight for their grub.

I just love this picture of Emmett...doesn't he look like he is trying to be so big? Please note that he is standing on his tippy toes!

PUMPKINS!

Jackson and Caleb hard at work "milking" the cow.

Back at home we carved the pumpkins. I thought this was really neat how the juice bubbled up when I was cutting off the top.

These three had so much fun carving and spent a long time just cutting away at their pumpkins. The Stroms are looking forward to another sleepover!

A day of canning...

Erik and I have been interested in canning and recently our friends asked us to join them as they canned apples. We spent the day canning 45 pounds of apples! The boys came along but Marcia had a bunch of jobs to keep them occupied and Emmett took two naps.

Washing the apples.

The start of the applesauce.

We saved the peels to make apple juice.

The boys made banana bread and zucchini bread. Delicious!

I forgot a seat for Emmett so he got tied to the chair while eating an apple.

6 quarts of apple pie filling

When the day was done we made 25 pints of apple sauce, 3 quarts of apple juice and 6 apple pies. It was so much fun to learn about the process and to have our kids be a part of it as well. Thank you Marcia and Rafael for your hospitality!

Leaf pile!

Then everyone decided to pile the leaves on Emmett...he had no reaction, but had a lot of leaves all the way down to his diaper!

All three of the boys were looking really cute in the mirror but Emmett was gone by the time I came back up with the camera!
