We took advantage of Erik's day off (and the gorgeous weather) and headed out to Barrington to get in the Halloween spirit! (those of you who know Erik, know that he is not a big fan of Halloween...so thanks for making it a great day!)

He also really enjoyed feeding the sheep. 
I liked the light that was shining on Jackson as he played on the ground. By the way, he is getting way too big, way too fast. He had a 4 month appointment last week and weighs 16.5 pounds. He is totally rolling over, playing with all his toys, he just found his feet yesterday and can hold his head up like it is no big deal. He is one happy little guy and I am very thankful for that!
We went to the Shedd with Linnea and Gwen. The kids had so much fun looking at the big fish tank...seriously the highlight of the trip. (I love how Gwen always points at things!) They also really enjoyed the dolphin show. Thanks for a fun morning!
This weekend we left the kids at home (Caleb stayed with the Stroms and Jackson stayed with the Mechers) and headed up to Covenant Harbor for a Young Adult retreat. We had a GREAT time. We missed the boys like crazy, but enjoyed the quality time we were able to spend with good friends.
When our washing machine broke last week, I decided to take the laundry over to my parents house. We were a little bored there, so we headed over to the Rills. This week, we just brought the laundry to the Rills and have decided to stick with this weekly gathering! Caleb and Grayden had a great time playing with the marble works and Olivia was content to hold Jackson the entire time! See you on Wednesday!

For the longest time Caleb would be scared of the big tractor in the Main Barn. Today he decided he wanted to check it out. So, he waited in line (so patiently while another little boy just ran up and cut in front of everyone...his parents didn't even care!) and drove the big tractor. He had so much fun and was very good about coming down so that other kids could have a turn. I guess he just needs to warm up to things like this.
We were invited to attend the Good News Kitchen Benefit on Sunday. It was so fun to go out and be dressed up with friends. We had a great time and Erik was one number away from winning the raffle!

We spent most of the day in the pre-school room. Caleb loved all the wooden trucks and things.

Here is Caleb waiting in the back of the church to walk down the aisle. See his little pumpkin Pez on the step? The deal was that if he walked down the aisle he would get his Pez. There were a few moments that I really thought he might do this.
This picture is so funny to me. He wanted to take a picture of his pumpkin, so I let him. He covered the flash with his fingers and this is what happened...doesn't it look kinda Halloweeny?!
We thought Caleb might make it further down the aisle if Erik walked with him. This is the start..fingers in the mouth...but walking none the less.
This was the last step, tears and loud crying. Erik ended up picking him up and walking out the back door. I have it all on video but don't know how to get video from my video camera to the computer. Some day my brother Colby will help me with all of that. 
I still let him eat his candy. What a pathetic little ring bearer. At one point he said "I didn't do it mommy." I think he took about eight steps down the aisle...way to go Caleb!
Jackson didn't make the cut! He was asleep.
Both boys are ready to cheer on the Cubs tonight! Thanks to Erik's friend Fazia for the shirts! Not real easy to get a good one with both boys, but Jackson was real excited about pictures and I couldn't just choose one!
Last weekend we went to the North Park homecoming soccer game and Jackson sported this little sweatshirt! It is actually Kira's, I was so excited for him to get to wear it.
Remember on Caleb's birthday when we went to the Kohl Children's Museum? I never mentioned that our picture was taken for the Glenview Journal! We recieved the paper in the mail the other day...here is Caleb's first newspaper clipping! What a great way to document his second birthday.
