Horsy and MGM

This is Caleb looking at the "horsy" which was right by where we picked up the buses to go to the different parks.

Caleb, Gramma and the Little Einsteins at MGM.

Snackin' on the bench with Gramma.

Going down a big slide at the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" park.

So big!

We had great weather the beginning of our trip and then toward the end it started to get a little chilly...but nothing like Chicago weather!

Animal Kingdom

We went to Animal Kingdom and took Caleb on his first ride. He was indifferent about the ride.
Uncle Colby dressed up as a toursit, complete with polaroid camera and flag fanny pack! I love Olivia's face in this picture! We called him "Bradford" and yes, he made this face all day.

Daddy and Caleb back at our cabin having a snack.

That night we went to EPCOT to see the fireworks.

On our way to Florida!

My family (my mom's side) takes a trip to Disney World every 5 years...2007 was the year! When we were all together there were 25 of us! Unfortunately this time a few families were not able to join us. It was so exciting to have Caleb on the trip this time. It was much more exciting to see Disney World through the eyes of a 17 month old. And, since I couldn't go on any of the rides, we didn't have to worry about who would stay with the kids!
Uncle Colby and Caleb on the plane.
Caleb was so high up when he was on Uncle Kyle's shoulders.

We finally got to meet up with Erik in Florida. He flew straight from Denver to Florida. We were so happy to see him! We are on our way to dinner at "Ohana" for my mom's birthday.

This is Caleb looking out at the boats saying "boat, boat, boat".

Posing

Caleb kept "posing" while we were eating our snack this afternoon. Sometimes I wonder if he could be any cuter!! He is talking so much lately and most of the time will attempt to say whatever you ask him to. My personal favorites are "Hallelujah" and "All Right!" On a side note, we are excited to see "daddy" tomorrow, he has been in Colorado since Sunday for the Covenant Midwinter Conference. Caleb has been saying "daddy" since he woke up this morning.

Happy (early) Valentine's Day

I just made these Valentine treats for my family and thought they deserved a picture on the blog!

20 weeks

Here I am at 20 weeks! The belly is getting bigger every day. We will schedule our ultra-sound for some time after our trip. (We will not be finding our the sex, but I am really feeling a girl!)

We cheered for the Bears and Caleb wore the jacket Colby found at the thrift store; but it wasn't enough!

Lately Caleb has been getting better at using his utensils and has also realized that he loves soup. Bon Appetite!

Excuse me...where did my little boy go? Caleb got a hair cut on Sunday and I think it makes him look so much older.

Caleb is getting excited to go see Mickey Mouse!

On Tuesday we watched Greta, Olivia and Grayden. Caleb loved having all these friends to play with. I couldn't have done it without Olivia's help. Olivia is 4.5 years old, she helped with diapers, lunch, reading, painting, keeping the kids out of trouble and cleaning up. Thanks Olivia!

Weekend Retreat

This is my new favorite picture of Caleb.

After he ate this cookie he rubbed the chocolate all over his chest!

Bath time!

This is Quinten.

Joel and Caleb playing in the shower.
This weekend we took a little getaway with friends from our Bible Study. We headed out of the city to Wayne, IL and stayed at a beautiful country home. We spent a relaxing weekend eating together, playing games, taking walks and enjoying the kids. More pictures coming soon!

A playdate with Greta

We watched Greta Johnson this morning, and here is just one of the fun things the kids did together. Of course, we couldn't get a picture of both of them looking at the camera! They have so much fun together. Greta will be 2 in February, so they are about 7 months apart...but almost the same size. It's so much fun to watch these two interact all day!

What a big guy!

Just thought you might like to see the "man" Caleb is becoming (notice the crossed legs)!

Goodbye Hannah!

Our good friend Hannah was here for the weekend. Caleb took to her right away and even sat in her lap for extended periods of time. It was great to spend some quality time with Hannah before she leaves for Costa Rica for a year and a half!
We will miss you Hannah!

Chicago Couple Makes Medical Breakthrough

If you didn't know it already, Caleb has become a die-hard thumb-sucker. Not only does this wonderful habit make him more prone to sickness, when combined with Chicago's cold and dry winter, it has awful effects on Caleb's skin. Recently, his poor little digit even developed a painful crack all the way across the width of the thumb! We tried numerous options: bandaids last about 30 seconds and any ointment would get sucked off instantaneously...so, we did lots of medical research, consulted numerous M.D.'s, and finally decided to go with the super high-tech "sock treatment." Frustration set in quickly, but it wasn't long before Caleb was back to normal, acting as if the sock wasn't even there. I guess we're really learning these days just how resilient and quick-healing our little guy can be! The thumb is looking better, and I've been asked to write an feature article in the New England Journal of Medicine. On a lighter note, Caleb has taken to a few chores around the house. His favorite: dusting the floors with the foofy-duster. Of course after finishing this particular round, he proceeded to smile proudly and shove the dirty end right into his mouth. We're so very proud.

Matron of Honor and 38 weeks pregnant

My sister Brooke asked me to be in her wedding with this handmade t-shirt. If you can't read it, it says "i'll be 37 4/7 weeks pregnant, but my sister still wants me to be her matron of honor". I will wear this shirt proudly until my belly is too big.

The other picture shows my 15.5 week belly. Our little one is growing, we have our second doctors appointment tomorrow morning.
